Parent Support Group
Caring for a child can feel like a rollercoaster journey, with great days and some not-so-great ones. It’s time for caregivers to care for themselves! How? Connect with others who are going through similar experiences, and also learn important techniques for you to care for yourselves as well.
Taking place on 28 November 2022, this support group is for caregivers of children with special educational needs. The goal is for caregivers to have a safe, nonjudgmental space for self-discovery, and to empower you with techniques to support your own mental health and relieve the psychological and physical stress you may be feeling constantly.

Run by a team of trained child therapists, the 3-hour parent relief programme provides children with physical care in a safe and stimulating environment while caregivers take a breather. Children will enjoy a select range of hands-on learning activities focused on building their language, motor, and social skills.
The parent relief group aims to:
Provide families with caregiving relief and respite
Provide care for children and opportunities for socialization
Engage children in enriching and purposeful activities for the duration of the programme

2022 Lego Therapy
Legos are a very useful and effective way of teaching children how to develop social skills! In our Lego-based Therapy sessions, your child will take on one of three different roles to learn collaborative play, cooperation, turn-taking, following rules, problem solving, and conversation skills.
These sessions are suitable for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders or Social Communication Challenges. Commencing on 4 October, sessions will be held every Tuesday and Saturday.

2022 Fun with Rubik's Cube!
More than just a toy, the ever popular Rubik’s Cube has numerous benefits for children, including mental rotation and fine motor skills. Taught in a small group setting, social and collaboration among group members will be emphasised as well. Over the course of 4 sessions, participants will learn how to solve the Rubik’s Cube using step-by-step and intuitive techniques.
This group is suitable for children aged 8-12 years old and will be held from 6 September till 9 September, from 10am - 11.30pm each day.

Outdoor Play
Outdoor activities are an essential part of a child’s development and helps them to develop physically, emotionally, cognitively, imaginatively.
It improves fine and gross motor skills, and improves social and emotional development. By interacting with other playmates, children have the opportunity to learn communication, cooperation, and perspective-taking skills. It also build friendships which fosters social competence and prosocial behaviors. Finally, outdoor play creates opportunities for children to learn competence, resilience, and community building.
Social Thinking
Some child face difficulties with social learning and interactions. In this playgroup, your child will be taught to better understand their minds and why they react and respond the way they do, the recognition of nonverbal communication cues such as gaze and gestures, empathy and perspective-taking, and be equipped with tools and strategies to cope with daily living.
These skills enable a child to better navigate their social and learn to adapt and respond to the people and situations around them. Hence, it is beneficial to foster such skills at an early age.
Story Telling
Storytelling improves social skills such as non-verbal communication, master literacy skills, and promotes creativity among children.
As an important tool to strengthen social interactions, storytelling allows children to participate by repeating phrases/role-playing parts of the story. As children familiarise themselves with the stories, they are able to focus on interpreting non-verbal cues such as facial expressions and tone.
