Joyce graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Psychology degree and a Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) from Australian Catholic University (Melbourne).
She is dedicated to supporting children through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, social and emotional difficulties, and relationship difficulties. She is passionate in working with individuals affected by trauma with strong focus on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also provide support to children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Joyce has an extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. She takes a neuroaffirming approach, respecting and valuing neurodiversity, working collaboratively with clients.
With experience supporting individuals in Singapore and Australia across community and clinical settings, Joyce approaches therapeutic work through the lens of attachment theory and draws from different modalities to suit the needs of the client including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Play Therapy while maintaining a strong focus on person-centred care. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Part 1 and 2).
Joyce feels strongly that diversity in our world and culture is what makes it beautiful. She aims to provide a safe space where her clients can grow and discover their strengths.
Joyce loves cooking and enjoying good food with her family and friends. She is determined to find the best recipe for baking Shokupan. She is experimenting with growing herbs at home and hopes the plants will flourish.
Joyce provides therapy in English and Mandarin.
